YUKIOR is on schedule
In the second match of the second round of the MVL in Ufa, YUKIOR achieved a dry victory over the home team, "Berkuts of the Urals" - 25:17, 25:22, 25:22. Despite the score, the game was not a cakewalk for our youth.
Except that in the first game everything was more or less calm for the Ugra people. The second set proceeded in an equal fight, and closer to the end, the Ural Golden Eagles took the lead, 18:20. Reliable play on the block helped correct the situation, It is especially worth noting two “cases” performed by Alexander Krasilnikov, brought important break points (21:20, 23:21).
In the third game the teams were level until the mark 8:8 – the Golden Eagles took risks on serve and failed to cope with the risk, solving the rental problem for YUKIOR, but we didn’t get any breaks either. The block helped again - 11:8, 13:9. But in the end the hosts managed to reduce the gap from five points to two, 23:21. Fortunately there was enough safety margin, to avoid a truly valid endgame, Krasilnikov, who confidently played the entire match, put an end to the match.
Statistics confirm, that the block became the main weapon of YUKIOR in the match. Losing an attack (36% on 40%), reception (33 against 59%), winning nothing by serve (teams have one ace each), we defeated the hosts on the block (13 from command 3). Also, the Ural Golden Eagles spoiled their statistics with 20 service errors (at 9 at YUKIOR).
The best scorer of the meeting was Alexander Krasilnikov with 18 points (including 4 block), Ivan Skvortsov scored half as much, chalked up 3 block and ace. Today is the teams' rest day, after which we will play again with Neftyanik-UOR and Berkut Ural-BashGAU.
