From ship to ball: dance with perspective
Gazprom-Yugra opened the official season with an internal setting - to consider the preliminary part of the Russian Cup as part of the pre-season preparation. For the people of Surgut, this is a traditional story called "from the ship to the ball" and today we performed a rather incendiary dance with the Belgorod "Belogorye".
In the first set, the debutant was embarrassed - Belogorye, after all, managed to play a full-fledged Spartakiad, and we, what is called, just got out. And, full debut not only in the season, but in the Superleague in general it took place immediately with three players of the main team - Vadim Ozhiganov, Kirill Ionov and Mamadou Seydou Mbengue, who remained in the team after watching.
by the way, both debutants in the center of the grid did not disappoint at all: in Mamad 80% realization in the attack (true, in just five attempts), three blocks and ace, Kirill chalked up four cases. And the team as a whole looked good against the background of a more experienced opponent. Surgutians took the second game quite confidently, putting hope in the hearts of the fans.
But at the beginning of the third set, Ivan Podrebinkin succeeded in several signature serves.. Surgut residents did not allow Belgorod residents to develop success, returned to the game, were somewhere near and close (18:20), but lost a couple of key protracted draws. In the fourth installment, approximately the same thing happened - the game "second number" ended closer to the finish line with a series of powerful innings performed by Stanislav Masliev.
The game left if not pleasant, quite a palatable aftertaste: it is seen, that our players are still damp, but the potential is felt. Nikita Alekseev, traditionally becoming the top scorer (and, on both sides of the grid), crept close to the cherished figure in 50% efficiency. Our players are still in search of themselves, but in the center, as we already wrote, everything is pretty good - again, taking into account the double debut at this position. Vadim Ozhiganov, from which, as we understand, depends on the site a lot, tries to play a modern game - and although mutual understanding with partners is still in the process of debugging, its contours are already visible: at top speeds, to break the block.
Libero - Alexey Kabeshov and Vladislav Dyakov - gave a good reception percentage and showed themselves in defense and safety net. Here we also have a sea of additional opportunities.. Anyway, quite an optimistic defeat, taking into account the level of the opponent and all the circumstances. The same idea was confirmed to us by the head coach of Gazprom-Ugra Rafael Khabibullin:
“We lost a little reception, but it's not so scary. We have many debutants, guys are ok, will add, the main thing is there is room to grow. The composition is interchangeable, we will rotate, because we consider this tournament as a kind of training option. Belgorod is more experienced than us, more powerful, very high level team, nice to look at them. And we will work and move on.”.
The thought of senior coach Alexander Gorbatkov is moving in the same direction: "We had our first official game, and the opponent played the Spartakiad, got into a rhythm. In this barrel of universal honey, I will add a fly in the ointment regarding the organization of the tournament. Namely, broadcasts of matches, which will be conducted only with the participation of the owners. For the capital of volleyball, for the title of which, not without reason, Kazan claims, it's pretty weird. And for the fans, impatiently waiting for the start of their teams in the Cup of Russia, still embarrassing.
Well, five minutes of sprinkling ashes on your head: in the preview for the match, I called Roman Poroshin a pupil of Belgorod, but it's not, he received his first volleyball education in Chelyabinsk, then there was also "Torch". And Vsevolod Abramychev is not on loan in Surgut, he made a full-fledged transition from Belogorye to our club. I'm sorry for the inaccuracies.
