End of the season
«Yenisei" (Krasnoyarsk): Osipov – Fetsov, Maksimov – Busel, Kitchen - Schenkel, Yanutov/Golubev
"Gazprom-Ugra" (Yugra): Kirillov – S.Kostadinov, Demakov - Andreev, A. Kostadinov - Gusamov, Nagaec
Ten residents of Surgut arrived in Krasnoyarsk, and without the support of the same Tyumen residents they could not pull something out of themselves, what could help win at least the “golden” set. The team can't be blamed: objectively tired, bloodless, she got so far, how could I. And Krasnoyarsk is far away even for Surgut. Start of the game in 16.00 local time - this is an additional “bonus”. It was noticeable, that the players haven’t really “woke up”, failed to rebuild and maximize their empty batteries.
A game without a diagonal may surprise you once: how good was Maxim Kirillov in attack in Surgut, he couldn't do anything on the net today. And young Daniel Golovanov, which they periodically tried to put into action, does not currently have the killer instinct of the Super League level. The player is not yet 20, like Fidan Gusamov, this is the future of Gazprom-Yugra. But today they lost to the more experienced Krasnoyarsk team.
We gave in, what's more worrying, as a pass. Slavi will leave to develop just in time with Osipov, and we will stay with Kirillov - and here the reserves for growth are inexhaustible. To be fair, and our reception today was limping, hence those breaks, which “Yenisei” confidently took and did not allow in the future. The Krasnoyarsk residents worked almost like clockwork, but nonetheless, on the teeth, on emotions - we could easily snag a “golden” set.
In general, everything was decided in it. And again we didn’t have enough, what wasn't there in the first place: just confident play diagonally. There was protection, insurance, there were saved balls and completions of the game with the diagonal being brought to a convenient position - but these attempts were either caught and returned, or resulted in a pure error. I repeat: It's not the players' fault, lost in resource.
The season is over. For the current state of the team, perhaps, it's for the better: continuing to wander through the endless Cup playoff grids is a costly endeavor in every sense. And in the end four grandees will come, who are now sorting out the medals, and will play for the Cup. These are the realities today. We fought, tried, did everything, what could. Thanks to the players and coaches for the season and happy anniversary! 30 years old, for which there were definitely more defeats, than victories. Just because, that we play at the highest level. Let's do, what can. And we continue on our way, with your head held high.
