SWITCHING TO THE CUP

In the coming weekend, the Super League takes a break - for the sake of holding the semifinal stage of the Russian Cup. In three cities - Novosibirsk, Moscow and Surgut - 12 clubs will compete for three tickets to the Final Four. The fourth participant of the final - Zenit Kazan, team, host of the final stage of the competition 14-15 December.

In our city, Belgorod “Belogorye” will compete for the only ticket to the decisive stage of the tournament., Kemerovo "Kuzbass", "Yenisei" from Krasnoyarsk and "Gazprom-Yugra". Round robin games, each with each, start on Friday, 2 November, and ends on Sunday, 4 November. The blitz tournament promises to be tough and very interesting., despite the unequal start of the opponents in the Russian Championship.

Recall, that “Belogorye” with three victories (including over Gazprom-Yugra) is among the leaders of the Super League, "Kuzbass", lost to Zenit Kazan in the third round, ranked sixth, but Gazprom-Yugra and Enisey lost their debut matches and are still at the bottom of the standings. However, It would be wrong to talk against this background about the teams’ chances in the semi-finals of the Russian Cup: Only three rounds were played in the championship, the teams had different opponents, and conclusions, even preliminary, it's too early to do. Especially, that cup matches always have their own stamp, Almost any team can “shoot” here.

It is worth mentioning separately, that the Surgut club took the recent defeat from Nova from Novokuybyshevsk extremely painfully. The team understands, that she is to blame for her fans and considers a successful performance in the Russian Cup to be the best rehabilitation. So the appropriate attitude on the part of the owners is guaranteed. But you have to understand, that our opponents are also full of desire to make it to the Final Four – the more interesting the upcoming matches will be!

And there will be someone to watch in the Premier Arena: exes will appear on the platform, current and potential Russian national team players, Canada, Australia, Serbia, France and Finland. “Kuzbass” will be led into battle by Russian national team player Viktor Poletaev and Surgut native by birth and volleyball education Igor Kobzar, The captain of the Canadian national team Gordon Perin and the player of the Serbian national team Nemanja Petrich stand out in the Belogorye team, Frenchman Nicolas Marechal and Australian Paul Carroll will probably have their say for Yenisei, won the EKB Cup in Surgut as part of the Berlin Recycling. The names of our players are well known to you - they are all eager to rehabilitate themselves for their last failure in the championship and count on the support of loyal fans.
