DAY FOUR: THE BATTERIES HAVE BEEN DISCHARGED
Having completed the tournament minimum task, Gazprom-Yugra has clearly and visibly lost concentration, necessary to continue the winning march through the playoffs, failing the game primarily in reception. And the mood of the Sosnovy Bor “Dynamo” was just appropriate - they still need points to guarantee their residence in volleyball high society.
However, the first set was an absolutely equal fight. The teams staged long rallies, alternating feeds through and through. The first serious lead was organized by Dynamo on Biryukov’s serve – ace, knocked out technique and Kuznetsov's attack on the passing ball, 11:14. Surgut residents respond with their breakthrough, which included an ace performed by Shchadilov, 15:14. And again Dynamo-LO is trying to leave, this time Tisevich is causing problems for our hosts, 16:19.
Excellent work in defense (Biryukov's attacks were raised twice), we deserved Yakovlev's shot into touch, 19:20. The next rally - again Biryukov has many attempts, the last of which he sends into touch... but our players touch the net on the block, 19:21. Nevertheless, "Gazprom-Yugra" with team efforts and finishing blows, Ursova not only catches up with the opponent, and earns a set point, leaving with 23:24 on 25:24. Kirill had a chance to finish the game, but did not take risks on a difficult ball, and Shpilev scored in the return attack, 25:25. And Ursov turned from a hero into an anti-hero of the party - he did not accept Tisevich’s proposal, and then knocked on the block, 25:27.
In the second game, in many episodes, the Surgut team was simply unlucky - everything was decided by some centimeters or tiny touches of the block. At the same time, the difference in reception became even more pronounced: if Dynamo, usually, attacked on comfortable balls with high-quality finishing, then the Surgut residents were forced to place the allotted balls into the court over and over again. For the time being, they succeeded - Glivenko and Shchadilov managed it. But then another batch of errors in reception followed and the score jumped from 13:13 on 13:16. A double substitution - Makarov and Chefranov came on - helped those, that the captain of the Surgut team finally managed to connect the first pace, and with a rare high-quality reception, he used the pipe - 18:20. And then Ursov scores an emergency goal, 19:20. It seemed, a little more, and the Surgut residents will again switch to the “swing” in the end, but Shchadilov cannot cope with the reception and knocks on the block, 19:22. Kuznetsov attacks - the ball almost goes out of touch, but these centimeters are for Dynamo-LO, 20:23.. It was no longer possible to win back three points in the endgame, Biryukov puts the point, 21:25.
And in the third set, Gazprom-Yugra’s move finally fell apart. We were equally unable to cope with Gotsev's gliders and the power delivery of Tisevich and Yakovlev. A game in such conditions, by definition, cannot be equal, and “Dynamo-LO” also started to succeed in attack: Biryukov, who caught the courage, scored from any position. Score, leaps and bounds, grew in favor of the Sosnovoborsk people - 4:8, 6:15, 10:18... Yury Melnychuk sent Chefranov to the site, Troinina and Ivanova, but this could no longer influence the situation in any way, 13:25. Seem to be, that it was during the game with Dynamo-LO that Gazprom-Yugra’s batteries ran out, and this happened directly on the site. Defeat, of course, always unpleasant, but in this particular case there is no need to dramatize it - failures over a long distance happen to everyone. And good, that we “waited” for our, already secured the Super League for next season.
For us in Krasnoyarsk, there is only one intrigue left - will “Ugra-Samotlor” be able to become that irritant?, which will return that Gazprom-Yugra to the site, which we are used to seeing. by the way, Nizhnevartovians, having won against Yaroslavich, strengthened their position in 13th place, giving the right to challenge a place in the Super League in a replay with the second team of the major league “A”.
