Решающий бросок «Газпром-Югра» совершает на подачах вышедшего со спецмиссией Слави Костадинова. Слави не стал подавать на силу, а раз за разом укорачивал подачу, «выдергивая» глубоко сидящих в ожидании «пушки» принимающих. Этого хватило для сбитого приема и феерической серии ошибок гостей на съеме. Дважды не забил Поторочин, в блок приземлился Шустров, Демаков закрыл Куликова, Юринский отыграл доигровочный мяч, 21:13.
«Ярославич» устал и встал, эйс Шустрова в стык Нагайцу и Гусамову уже не мог ничего изменить (22:16). Две успешные атаки Гусамова закрыли вопрос о том, кто сыграет с «Енисеем» в ¼ финала Кубка России.

Старший тренер ВК «Ярославич» Валерий Пясковский: Задачи были поставлены ребятам по элементам. Некоторые элементы нам удались, направление подачи выдержали, хорошая подача летела. Связующий ВК «Ярославич» Чеслав Свентицкис: Не хватило качества в элементах, много ошибались на подаче, to accept.
