MSTU (Moscow): Jos - Shkredov, Ganenko - Hetman, Antonov – Shchadilov, Iskhakov/Frolov

"Gazprom-Ugra": FROM. Kostadinov – Litvinov, Shevlyakov - Tkachev, Rodichev - A. Kostadinov, Moiseev

At the start of the match, the hosts lost the edges of their home court - Shkredov hit out three times. Block to Antonov and ace Slavi, 8:2. But gradually MSTU came to its senses and returned with the help of a block: Tkachev was not allowed in twice, Ganenko reached the edge of Kostadinov, Litvinov didn't score, 13:13.

Ours grabbed it in time: Shevlyakov kept the tension in the center, and then Kostadinov finished off the long shootout with a beautiful break pipe, 16:14. Litvinov increased the minimal advantage, having worked in defense and scored from a block, 20:17. Slavi pulled out the "dead", it seemed, Shkredov's discount, who switched to this type of threat - my brother did not disappoint, getting even from the spot by hand, 22:18. The MSTU timeout did not help and Tkachev was delayed on a series of difficult-to-receive gliders: a knocked out reception and an incomprehensible pass separated the ball and the attackers, 23:18. This gap was enough for success, despite, that Rodichev unsuccessfully saved the ball on the first set point, having removed him from the coaching bench - Shchadilov did not spare. But Shkredov sent it into the net, 25:20.

We also started the second set vigorously.: ace Slavi and 3:1. But this time the owners didn’t let me go, and Kostadinov twisted the ball along the rope into touch. But then Rodichev performed a pipe (when did this happen!), 4:3. The rivals taught each other a master class in defensive play, pipe with Kostadinov does not beat the block, Litvinov attacks wide, 6:8. Slavi persistently tries to activate Tkachev - to no avail, closed, fortunately Muscovites began to make mistakes themselves, Shkredov misses from an awkward position, 10:10. Once again Tkachev takes revenge with a glider, once again the Muscovites cannot adjust to the ball and, respectively, slurred on the grid, 12:10. Slavi’s five minutes of glory – he convincingly demonstrates an attack and pulls out a block., Litvinov in complete comfort, 13:11. And then our team makes another ace, 14:11. Shkredov misses the field and gives way to Korotaev, and Slavi knocks Frolov, who replaced Iskhakov, out of the reception, 16:11.

Alexandra Kostadinova is replaced on the back line by Kuklinskiy, Moiseev is excellent in defense, and in the end we go confidently, 22:16 after a mistake by Kotov who came out to serve. Our coaching staff makes a double substitution and Nikiforov scores the last three goals for Gazprom-Yugra, the last ball was played from the block in a rather difficult situation, 25:17.

Third set, Moiseev – defense, Slavi - emergency attack, 1:0. On A. Kostadinov’s serve we have a freeball and conversion through Rodichev, 5:3. We brake Ganenko with a block, and then Antonov in the overture of a protracted rally, where none of the diagonals could film, 8:4. Litvinov puts an ace on the sideline, 10:5. Tkachev again does not go in attack (10:7), but Rodichev confidently finds the line on a high ball and a triple block.

Korotaev appears in his position this time, instead of Stadilova, and starts to be useful, 12:10, but Slavi Kostadinov demoralizes his opponent with another ace, 14:10. Another softening of Litvinov overflows the patience of the coaching staff - on the Nikiforov site, а тем временем Коротаев кладет в копилку эйс, 15:14. В следующем розыгрыше Иван имел неочевидный шанс, searching for fingers in an attack from deep in the court did not work. Nikiforov, meanwhile, worked in attack (17:15) and protection, giving Slavi a chance to become famous, 18:15.

Zhos is weird with the gears, Nikiforov flawless, 19:16. Muscovites understand, that the game is finally getting out of hand, there will be no more opportunities to win back: Antonov gives all the money, ace, 19:18. Tkachev serves – it’s harmful for reception, twice fought off the attacks of Shkredov and Nikiforov, and who else, accurate in a playoff. And then Tkachev puts the glider exactly in the front, ace, 22:18. Korotaev and Kostadinov exchange attacks, Slavi's serve brings us a small pile of match points, 24:19. The hosts somehow remove themselves through the center, then they get a freeball on Shkredov’s short serve and Korotaev leaves the last breath of air, 24:21. The decisive play was not easy: Kostadinov and Shkredov did not succeed, but Nikiforov again puts an end to it and again with a difficult attack from the block into touch.

Overall, the victory was won in the “serve-receive” segment: 62% positive in reception against 38% gave superiority on the grid (48% on 36%). With the same number of defects, we have eight aces, the opponent has three. The whole team played smoothly, if there were failures somewhere, there were also compensations. So, Tkachev didn't score anything, but I was a nightmare with the glider, Moiseev is “not very good” at receiving (40% positive), but did a great job in defense. Rodichev played the game like a captain, gave 80% in acceptance and 58% in attack, Slavi played brilliantly in all elements, there are six of him (!) aces are almost commonplace now. There were inaccuracies in the transmission, but not critical. Brother Alexander with a splint on his injured striking arm and freezing it during timeouts was a reliable option, Shevlyakov played just as reliably, Nikiforov was excellent (88%, seven out of eight in attack!), Litvinov was caught and softened a lot, but, in fairness, the conditions for his attack were not always ideal. Overall, I was pleased with the team play, temporary gaps were corrected in a timely manner, played with a cool head, but with a warm heart. Well done, very important victory, and there are no others in the Super League!
