Yukior begins the struggle for the MVL Cup

12 May in Novy Urengoy starts the final tournament of the season - the Cup of the Youth Volleyball League. Our Yukior will try to confirm high positions, conquered in the championship of Russia. However, as the Russian Cup is shown in adults, Silver of the championship does not guarantee about nothing.

Eight of the country's best youth teams gathered in Novy Urengoy - teams were added to the participants of the recent Final Six in the championship, those who took seventh and eighth places are Nizhnevartovsk “SSHOR-Samotlor” and “Nova-2” from Novokuibyshevsk. The tournament formula is the same: first games within two groups, after which the opponents will “criss-cross” go into pairs for head-to-head games: the first team of group “A” will play with the fourth group “B”, etc..

At first glance, we got a simpler group: there is not a national champion among the competitors, "Lokomotiv-SSHOR" from Novosibirsk, nor the ambitious owners from “Fakel”, nor the always dangerous Muscovites from Dynamo-Olympus. And there is a bronze medalist of the Zenit-UOR championship (Kazan), "Dinamo-LO-2" and "SŠOR-Samotlor". But all opponents will be extremely motivated in games with us, and it would be good for us to occupy the highest possible place in the group, to avoid meeting a serious opponent in the quarterfinals.

Cup matches, especially at the youth level, always unpredictable. I'm sure, that during the tournament we will witness a beautiful game, and sensational results. The first match of the tournament YUKIOR will play 12 May morning, We are waiting for a match with Dynamo-LO-2. The next day, the Yugra residents will fight with their geographical neighbors from Nizhnevartovsk, and the group stage will end with the most important match against Kazan “Zenit-UOR”. And then the playoffs. Pain for ours!
