Let's go to the second round

Start of the second round – jokes and experiments aside. MSTU is waiting for us in Moscow, Super League debutant, who managed to gain some experience and added strength compared to the first game in Surgut. remind, that even then victory was not easy for us: despite the score 3:0 two sets ended in balance.

And let no one be embarrassed by just one victory of students in the championship. She was won, by the way, in Novy Urengoy, over "Fakel-Yamal". After a long recession, Ural, which in the same Urengoy beat Zenit-Kazan. And there were also 2:3 in a tense match with Zenit from St. Petersburg.

I perfectly understand the conventions of all these comparisons, but you can’t erase the words from the song: MSTU can demonstrate very aggressive and effective volleyball. true, the team has recently been experiencing something atypical for the middle of the season, Super League and volleyball in general there is an outflow of players: in addition to the previously departed setter Khaibulov and central blocker Troyan, three additional players were added at once: Pozdnyakov, Purine, Bestuzhev. Although, by the way, left the major league “A” with MSTU and was the captain of the team.

We will not meddle in the internal affairs of Muscovites, before the upcoming game it is important to simply understand, that with a high degree of probability Leonid Shchadilov and Ivan Piskarev will come out against us in the final game. Shchadilov played in Surgut, experienced craftsman with relatively low removal rate, which is compensated by good vision of the site and a flexible brush. Likes to attack while playing back from a block, but on occasion he makes excellent use of the open “windows”. Piskarev, in front of, power plan executor, somewhat straightforward, but due to good physics it often breaks through defenses.

Diagonally – Nikolay Zubov, Yesterday's MVL star, turning before our eyes into a serious threat at the Super League level. Easy, mobile, youthfully uncompromising. Fourth highest scorer in the Super League in terms of points scored (our Vitaly Papazov is in tenth place). If Zubov doesn’t work (which is unlikely), we will be able to see Sergei Pirainen on site.

In the center of the net, the experienced Sergei Rokhin has recently been paired with Alexey Ganenko, libero - well-known to us Grigory Dragunov and young Timur Iskhakov. Egor Kazbanov has noticeably improved in the position of setter, and Ilya Onishchenko, who comes out to solve tactical issues on the serve, insures him.

The composition is quite solid and combat-ready. Take the last match of MSTU with Yenisei - despite 0:3, in each of the sets, the students led the score and had every chance to achieve a positive result. Didn't have enough confidence in the endings - probably, this is the main problem of students this season.

It’s hard to say based on the matches with Dynamo and Zenit St. Petersburg, in what functional state does one approach the important Gazprom-Yugra game?. Still, the opponents were head and shoulders above us and often simply did not give our players a chance to show all their capabilities. In Moscow against MSTU we will have such carte blanche - to play our game, give the required quality. We need to improve our execution of pre-game chances, which we have gained in recent matches thanks to good defense. Overall it will be a game of equal opponents, the winner will be determined, normally, the details. hope, that they will work out in our favor.
