В первом матче первого игрового дня в Сургуте встречались «Динамо» из Ленинградской области и МГТУ. В стартовом сете сначала завязалась равная игра – 3:1, 6:6, 9:9. В середине партии 3 очка подряд набирают сосновоборцы – точен Илья Борило, тройной блок зачехлил Савелия Позднякова, а затем еще и Денис Бирюков выдал эйс – 14:11, чуть позже – 18:16. И с этого момента солировали волейболисты МГТУ. Ошибся в атаке Осниель Мельгарехо, дважды подряд москвичи закрыли небо Назару Литвиненко. Да еще и Андрей Котов дал эйс, а в следующем моменте Савелий Поздняков отыгрался от блока. 18:21. Момент оказался переломным, МГТУ взял партию – 21:25.
Москвичи и в дальнейшем смотрелись здорово. Это был равный матч по многим показателям (errors 26:25, attack 41%/40%, reception 15%/14% отличной доводки и 38%/47% позитивной). Судьба второго и третьего сета решалась в концовках, в них лидерами заходили спортсмены МГТУ (19:21 and 20:21), но сильнее были волейболисты «Динамо-ЛО» (25:22 and 25:23). В четвертой партии преимущество сосновоборцев было крепче 25:20.
Набирает форму Мельгарехо, призванный на роль одного из лидеров «Динамо-ЛО» (+11 in the match). Он проиграл семь мячей, неважно сыграл в приеме (32% позитивной доводки), но компенсировал недочеты работой на блоке (4 points).
At MSTU 18 очков набрал Николай Зубов, но при этом он трижды ошибся в атаке, 7 раз попал под блок, потерял 6 мячей на подаче и 1 to accept.
